This workshop presented an expert in qualitative research methods, Dr. G. A. (Gerben) Moerman from the University of Amsterdam. Dr. Moerman explained the importance of integrating comprehensive social research methods into the International Relations curriculum. The discussion also included a discussion on curriculum development that emphasized the importance of an interdisciplinary approach in understanding the dynamics of international relations and global social phenomena and how an interdisciplinary approach can provide new perspectives that are useful for students in this field.
This activity also presented a further sharing session on the curriculum discussion. In the session, Dr. Moerman shared his experiences and insights on the curriculum implemented at the University of Amsterdam. This discussion provided inspiration in efforts to develop a curriculum with a more dynamic approach and relevant to the needs of the academic and professional world today.
