The central theme of the thesis must address over-boundary activity of international relations actors (state\/non-state). The topic may focus on the following issues:<\/span><\/p>

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>International conflict and peacebuilding.<\/span><\/p>

The thesis topic must specify the geographical focus, such as:<\/span><\/p>

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>A specific country (e.g., Indonesia, United States).<\/span><\/p>

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>A bilateral relationship (e.g., China\u2013US relations).<\/span><\/p>

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>A region (e.g., South China Sea, Middle East, Indo-Pacific).<\/span><\/p>

3. Temporal Scope :<\/b><\/span><\/p>

The thesis topic must specify the time frame of the study:<\/span><\/p>

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>A historical period (e.g., Cold War era, post-9\/11 period).<\/span><\/p>

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>A range of years (e.g., 2015\u20132024).<\/span><\/p>

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>A contemporary analysis of current events or ongoing developments.<\/span><\/p>

4. Conceptual Scope :<\/b><\/span><\/p>

The thesis analysis must use IR theoretical framework and conceptual tools, such as:<\/span><\/p>

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>Grand theories (Realism, liberalism, constructivism, marxism, etc).<\/span><\/p>

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>Concepts and theories (soft power, strategic culture, sovereignty, interdependence, etc).<\/span><\/p>

5. Methodological Scope :<\/b><\/span><\/p>

The thesis must use one of the following the research methods:<\/span><\/p>

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>Qualitative (e.g., case study, discourse analysis, interviews).<\/span><\/p>

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>Quantitative (e.g., statistical analysis, survey).<\/span><\/p>

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>Mixed methods.<\/span><\/p>

And use primary\/secondary sources, official documents, media analysis, etc.<\/span><\/p>

6. Limitations :<\/b><\/span><\/p>

It is important to clarify what are not covered in the thesis, for example:<\/span><\/p>

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>Unrelated theories, regions, time periods, or issues.<\/span><\/p>
