Organizations & Alumni Contributions

Alumni of International Relations at Hasanuddin University are members of the International Relations Alumni Association (IKAHI) within the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Hasanuddin University. Currently, Indah Putri Indriani serves as Chair of IKAHI for the 2021-2025 term and concurrently holds the position of Regent of North Luwu.

The contribution of International Relations alumni to the Study Program is very diverse and of significant value. Alumni represent a valuable resource to the study program, offering practical insights gained from their experience in the field, extensive network of contacts, in-depth knowledge of the discipline of International Relations, and analytical skills throughout their academic journey. The roles that International Relations alumni can play in supporting the study program include:

  • Mentoring: Alumni serve as mentors to current students, providing guidance regarding career prospects in International Relations, assisting students in understanding job opportunities, and providing advice on skill development.
  • Guest Speakers and Lecturers: Alumni are invited as guest speakers in classes or campus events to share their wealth of experience and knowledge. This engagement provides students with a practical understanding of real-world dynamics in International Relations. This interaction occurs in the context of lectures or other activities initiated by either IKAHI or the Study Program.
  • Professional Networking: Alumni actively assist students in building a strong professional network by introducing them to fellow alumni and other industry professionals in the field of International Relations. This network can facilitate students in getting internships and career opportunities in the future.
  • Book Donations: Alumni make significant contributions in enriching reference materials, such as books and publications, in the International Relations Department reading room.
  • Curriculum Development: Alumni are often invited to share their insights from the professional world, providing valuable input in curriculum development to ensure alignment with current developments in the field of International Relations.

With IKAHI’s proactive involvement, the International Relations study program can ensure that its students are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and connections necessary to be successful in their careers, while improving the overall quality and relevance of the program.
