Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Hasanuddin University based on Decree of the Minister of PP & K RI dated January 30 1961 No. A/4692/UU/5/1961 with 2 departments in it, namely the Department of State Administration and the Department of Publicistics: A/4692/UU/5/1961 with 2 departments in it, namely the Department of State Administration and the Department of Publicistics. After its founding, Fisip continued to improve and change to answer Indonesia’s human resource development needs by opening several study programs including International Relations. Formally, the International Relations study program accepted its first batch of students in 1980 under the auspices of the Department of Politics and Government. The establishment of this study program was based on the need to support the implementation of Indonesian diplomacy. In 2007, the International Relations Study Program then became autonomous as the Department of International Relations which was separate from the Department of Politics and Government. After going through a series of systematic development efforts, in 2015 through the Decree of the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education 1122/SK/BAN-PT/Akred/S/X/2015, the Department of International Relations obtained accreditation A. In 2017 the Department of International Relations obtained certification AUN-QA and finally in 2020 also obtained A accreditation through the Decree of the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education number 6848/SK/BAN-PT/Ak-PPJ/S/XI/2020 which is valid until 2025.
