Makassar, August 13, 2025 — The International Relations Study Program organized the Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB) 2025 with the theme “Powerplay: The Infinity Game of Global Power.” This theme highlights the dynamics of global power through simulations representing international organizations.
New students were divided into several groups representing international organizations, including NATO, United Nations (UN), OPEC, IMF, BRICS, World Bank, WTO, ASEAN, G7, and CERN. The concept was creatively packaged by adapting characters from the Avengers, such as Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor, to provide a more contextual and easily understandable approach.
The series of activities also featured an “Alumni Sharing Session” involving alumni from various sectors, including Human Rights, Public Policy Advocates, and Creative Marketing Specialists. This session aimed to provide a practical overview of the implementation of International Relations knowledge in the workplace.
Before the main activities, the Pre-PKKMB was held online involving all new students. One of the agendas conducted was a talk show titled “IR Talks: From Concept to Conflict,” which featured alumni and active students to discuss the application of International Relations perspectives in various contemporary issues.
This activity is expected to equip new students with an initial comprehensive understanding of International Relations studies and its relevance in global dynamics.
