Makassar, 13 July 2023 – The Unhas Hotel and Convention Ballroom witnessed an important event held on Thursday, 13 July 2023, namely the ASEAN National Seminar with the theme “Indonesia’s Strategic Leadership in ASEAN Amidst Geopolitical Rivalry and the Threat of Transnational Crime.”
This prestigious event featured Prof. Dr. Moh. Mahfud MD, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, as the main speaker. This national seminar, held at Hasanuddin University Makassar, provides an important platform for policy makers, academics and the wider community to understand Indonesia’s important role in maintaining stability and security in the increasingly complex ASEAN region.
This national seminar is also a valuable discussion platform regarding strategic issues of the ASEAN Political-Security Community and the ASEAN 2045 vision, as well as concrete steps that Indonesia and other ASEAN member countries can take to overcome future challenges. This seminar is the result of close collaboration between the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs and the Department of International Relations at Hasanuddin University, which aims to not only provide valuable insights but also support Indonesia’s role as Chair of ASEAN in 2023.
